Guide Gault & Millau 2022 rated 16/20 Silver Medal at the Concours Général Agricole 2020
80% Meunier (including 18% Meunier red wine produced by Maison Moutardier) and 20% Chardonnay wine.
The robe
Le Champagne has a deep raspberry pink color with bright and deep ruby red reflections in the glass. It is animated by very fine and lively bubbles which feed a persistent collar. The rather fluid and colorful disc closes a rich and fresh visual sensation.
The Nose
The first nose evokes smells of strawberry, raspberry, iodine, peppermint. Allowed to breathe, it develops into a fragrance of intense peony, fresh pomegranate and morello cherry. It is a basket of fresh fruits, flowers and lightness that is offered to tasters.
The Tasting
The approach on the palate is supple and fresh with a creamy and melted effervescence. The wine develops with a pulpy and fleshy fruity substance that offers a very pure velvety tactile sensation. The mid-palate is more vinous with tactile breadth and a clay coating that also gives patina and juiciness.
